We have two distinct seasons for transport in the archipelago here in northern Sweden based on climate.
During the summer season from 25 June to 14 August the ferry MV Laponia departs from the south harbor in Luleå city daily. The summer ferry boat schedule can can be found here: (Link)
The ferry is an excellent and environmentally sustainable way to visit Jopikgården and see the archipelago in comfort. Transfer time is either 1 ½ hours or 3 ½ hours depending on the daily schedule. We are located only 400 meters from our harbor and can arrange to pick up your baggage and take it to the hotel.
We can also arrange a private boat transfer to us if you prefer. One of our guides can pick you up at your hotel or if you have an automobile we can meet you at the small boat harbor at Hindersöstallerna for the approximately 30 minute transfer. Space is limited to 12 persons. Call for availability and directions to the harbor.
In the winter season we must wait for the ice to thicken before we can welcome guests.This usually happens by the end of December. Once it is sufficiently thick and tested we can arrange a snowmobile transfer from the small boat harbor at Hindersöstallerna to Jopikgården. Transfer time is about 30 to 45 minutes from the harbor and is in an open air sled behind the snowmobile. If you are visiting from outside Luleå and have no automobile, we can gladly arrange a guide to pick you up from your hotel.
Later in the winter season ( January to April) the ice is thick and can be plowed and cleaned to make an ice road. The road is regularly maintained and tested and is an unforgettable way to visit us. Of course we can arrange a private transfer. Call in advance for current conditions. (link)
For those that will experience something different, we can arrange a private transfer by hovercraft to one of our harbors. We will meet you at the harbor and transfer your baggage. Call for availability. (max 5 persons)
